Printing Guide
How to Print Your Planner Inserts from Black White Neutral
At Black White Neutral, we provide files that are designed for easy printing on A4 or US Letter paper. Please carefully follow the instructions below to ensure your planner inserts print out correctly.
1. Important Notes
- Use Adobe Acrobat Reader: Always use Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free software by the creator of PDFs, to print your files. Avoid printing from web browsers or other programs, as they may distort the formatting.
- Use a Color Laser Printer: Our designs include subtle grey elements, so it's essential to use a color laser printer. Monochrome printers may not accurately reproduce these details.
- Print Quality: The final output can be influenced by your printer, printer software, and environmental factors like humidity. For the best results, ensure your printer is in optimal condition.
2. Printing Instructions
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Download Your Files: Save the PDF files to your computer.
-
Choose the Correct File:
- For US Letter / A4 sizes, select the “2 on a page” file.
- For Half Letter / A5 sizes, select the “1 on a page” file.
- For planner-sized paper, select the “1 on a page” file.
- Open in Adobe Reader: Right-click your downloaded file, choose “Open with,” and select Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Page Setup: In the print dialogue box, set the appropriate paper size (US Letter or A4).
- Printer Selection: Choose the printer you wish to use.
- Select Pages to Print: Specify which pages to print.
-
Page Size and Handling: Make sure to select the "Actual Size" option.
*This step ensures your planner inserts print at the correct size. - Orientation: Select Auto Portrait / Landscape to ensure proper alignment of front and back pages.
-
Double-Sided Printing:
- For portrait orientation, choose "Flip on long edge."
- For landscape orientation (typically used for 2 pages per sheet), choose "Flip on short edge."
If your printer doesn't support automatic double-sided printing, manually print odd pages first, flip the paper, and print the even pages.
3. Common Printing Issues
- Incorrect Size: Ensure "Actual Size" is selected under "Page Size & Handling." This prevents your printer from resizing the PDF based on the paper size.
- Not Centered: Check that the orientation is set to "Auto" instead of manually choosing portrait or landscape. This ensures proper centering.
- Too Dark or Too Light: Printer settings may vary in print density. Some printers allow you to adjust the "Print Density" to lighten or darken the print. Refer to your printer's manual or customer service for specific adjustments.
- File Corruption: If the file doesn’t print correctly or seems damaged, try re-downloading it. Occasionally, download issues may corrupt the file.
